Directions to Murray Hall
Murray Hall is located on the College Avenue Campus of Rutgers University, New Brunswick. Its street address is
510 George St.
New Brunswick, NJ
N.B. use the embedded “directions” tab on this map with caution. Google Maps appears to be somewhat confused about this address, giving a wrong location if you enter the correct mailing zipcode (08901) as supplied by the RU Gmaps app but the right location if you enter the wrong zipcode (08933). Thanks, Skynet.
The following GMaps link is correct:
The entrance to Murray is on the quadrangle side, not the George St. side, as indicated on the map.
Murray is easily reachable on foot from the New Brunswick train station. If arriving from the north, you exit the train on the Murray Hall side of the tracks; if arriving on from the south, you will have to descend to the street and cross under the tracks at the George St. underpass.
Approx. GPS for Murray Hall entrance: 40.500594, -74.446785 / +40˚ 30′ 2.14″, -74˚ 26′ 48.43″
Reaching New Brunswick
New Jersey Transit‘s Northeast Corridor Line, which runs between New York and Trenton, serves New Brunswick. Trains run frequently from New York’s Penn Station; one-way fare to New Brunswick is $13. (A very few rush-hour express trains do not stop at New Brunswick; check the schedule before boarding). Normal travel time from New York is about an hour.
If traveling by SEPTA train from Philadelphia, change to NJ Transit at Trenton.
Amtrak trains rarely stop in New Brunswick. Connections between Amtrak service and NJT can be made at New York Penn Station, MetroPark, and Trenton.
Newark International Airport (EWR) is closest–a little more than half an hour by car or by train (again, the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor line).
From JFK Airport, take the Long Island Rail Road to Penn Station and connect to NJ Transit. The trip from JFK is perhaps two hours altogether.
From Philadelphia Airport, a car would be most practical (a little under two hours on the road).
New Brunswick is conveniently located on New Jersey’s famously scenic New Jersey Turnpike (I-95). It can also be reached from the Garden State Parkway, Route 1, and Route 287.
Rutgers has a page with clear directions written out by a human (and not Skynet). Follow the directions for the “College Avenue Campus.”
